Many people love their Google Chrome browser, I am one of them.  I find that it is pretty reliable and speedy, plus it also keeps an eye out for infected websites before your anti-virus picks up that you were infected by one.  As many things get older and used they slow down, but if you are seeing your browser slow down then there are a few things you can try to help with the speed of things.  Let’s get started with fixing your slow Google Chrome.

3 Steps to Fix a Slow Google Chrome Browser

  1. Clear your cache

    1. Press the 3 verticle dots on the top right of your browser
    2. Select More Tools
    3. Select Clear Browser Data
    4. Select all the boxes and click Clear Data
  2. Check your Browser’s Extensions /Addons

    1. Open the built-in Chrome Task Manager to see what is using all its memory and uninstall the extension/addon
  3. Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

    1. Press the 3 verticle dots on the top right of your browser
    2. Select Settings
    3. Expand the Advanced option at the bottom of the page
    4. Unselect the Use Hardware Acceleration When Available
